About STL | Great Value Books
Great Value Books, known previously as STL International, is a ministry of IBS-STL. The new name is designed to reflect the affordability of the literature we distribute to customers around the world. IBS stands for the International Bible Society, Bible translators for over 200 years and sponsor of the New International Version of the Bible. They currently have 200 full and part-time Bible translators working in 42 languages. STL stands for Send the Light, which began in the UK and was for many years the literature arm of Operation Mobilization. Although now separated they remain closely linked with a common goal to take the Good News to a needy world. STL has grown to be the world’s largest Christian distributor of Christian products. In 2007 IBS merged with STL, creating one of the largest global Bible and Christian literature ministries with offices in 40 countries, serving people of many languages and cultures. Great Value Books (GVB) has a history of selling low cost literature around the world, and much has to do with our OM heritage. Many years ago George Verwer, founder of OM, stated that literature was the most important tool in reaching the peoples of the world with the gospel. STL, as their mission statement outlines, has continued to do this. Today GVB sends Christian books and Bibles into every continent of the world. About Our Literature STL | Great Value Books distributes overstock and remainder books and Bibles, Authentic published material and Dake Bibles. Information for each of these product lines can be found on their individual web sites. Our Great Value Book overstock and reminder product is made up of thousands of titles in all categories, from Children’s books, Christian fiction, devotional material, discipleship books, and theological Literature. A major focus is the distribution of Bibles and other scripture items. Our inventory comprises of product from many major publishers based in the UK and USA. We update inventory on a regular basis, and are constantly looking for material that is both affordable and relevant to the peoples of the world. What is remainder / overstock product? From the various publishers we purchase case lot product that has been discontinued or overprinted, or mixed skids or pallets of their store returns. The returned stock may have cosmetic damage such as faded page edges or slightly bent covers, but is still new product. Books can also be sold with a sticker on either the front or back of the book. Some publishers will mark their books with a mark on the outside pages. This is done to prevent the product from being return for credit to the publisher and is a normal practice for high discount/remainder product. Because of these slight imperfections, although not taking away from the readability of the book, allows us to offer deep discounts to you. The overstock/remainder product is sold on a first come, first serve basis, and is not returnable. About Our Service All products are sent as per customer shipping instruction. For those customers who have no prior arrangement or consolidation service, we can advise and give shipping quotes. Orders can be sent to us by e-mail, fax, or post. Customers who do not have an account with us can pay with a credit card (where applicable), with a check in US dollars drawn on a US bank, or by wire transfer. Browse Our Inventory We know that when one half of the world is sleeping the other half is wide awake, so you may now view our inventory online 24 hours a day. At this time you may not order directly from the browser, but you can search our database and sort our titles by author, publisher or subject. The program does not require a username and password, but in order to view product with the prices based on your discount, you will need to contact Mark Chase at mark.chase@stl.org for your login information.
